By his wounds

(Sorry for the blog-a-thon Bobby)

Easter seems to be just around the corner and I am loving the song "By his wounds." What a great song and message! I love the way this song ends. So much power in one little song! Enjoy!

Ryan's haircut.

I still can't stand how big my little man is getting! He got a haircut this weekend and daddy decided he wanted it cut short. He looks 10 years older (sort of).

Sea World

As promised here are the pictures from when Ryan and Caleb went to Sea World earlier this month:

The kids thought they would catch up on the difference between a seal and a sea lion

Wow! That is one big beluga whale!

Our dolphin friend. It's chow time!

We found a great spot to see them up close

Ryan got to touch the dolphins! So much fun!

I think the dolphin wants those little fingers!

All in all a great time had by all!

Long weekend

Well this week was pretty uneventful. Tim got sick on Saturday and so I spent the day taking care of my sick boys! I'm sure we did something but I can't think of one thing we did on Saturday. Sunday was church (Ryan and I got there late..oops) and then I went with Tiff for lunch at Chili's. A much needed time away! Monday we went to eat breakfast at Broken Yolk (at around 11:30am) and I don't recommend the restaurant. We spent $7.oo on OJ and didn't even get refills! Need I say more. Then we went to the Zoo with the rest of San Diego. Having passes is nice because we can spend 2 hours there and leave and not care. We also went on the train at Balboa Park. Then back home where I took a nap while Tim watched Ryan (I had the morning shift). All in all a good and laid back weekend.

Not that we canceled our Netflix, we rent from Albertsons for $1.00 a movie. Tim ALWAYS comes home with a movie. So the movies we watched this weekend were... "Gone Baby Gone". Good movie but not the feel good movie of the year. It was actually kind of sad but it makes you think. Then we saw "The Contract". This has Morgan Freeman and John Cusack. I wasn't really thrilled with this movie either. Next movie was "Amazing Grace". I slept through this one (Mondays naps). Then we watched "Mr. Woodcock". I would skip on this one too. Tim picked the last two. I am a much better movie picker! So there you go, 4 movies this past weekend. Next weekend I want to rent "We Own the Night" and maybe even "The Assassination on Jesse James"

So look next week for more movie reviews. Anyone have any suggestions on good movies you would recommend?

Sick:update

Well, Ryan's appointment went well. He is the "average" child. His appointment was at 2:15pm...we were late since I thought it was at 2:30pm...oops! On the car ride home Ryan fell asleep. I put him into his crib at 3:30pm and at 4pm he was crying. I brought him to watch TV with me and he fell asleep right away. At 6pm I called Tim to see what I should do, do I wake him up so he will sleep through the night? Tim said "YES!" Ryan didn't agree with him though... he cried 15 min straight. So I rocked him back to sleep. At 7pm I changed him and we slept until 6:15am! My child basically slept from 3:15pm-6:15am!!! That's a lot of sleep! FYI: he hasn't taken a good nap since then!

Today was my turn. I had a doctors appointment. I talked it over with the doc. and decided to give the vaginal birth another go. I am a little scared but I pray things will go better this time around!

I'm tired tonight so I hope Ryan goes to bed easily. I was excited to have Monday off just to find out Tim has to work! Crap! I think he might be feeling a little "under the weather" Monday, if you know what I mean!

Well thats all for now. I still need to get the pictures of the boys at Sea World so I can post about that trip... the camera is still in the car though!

Sick!

As a parent I think the most helpless feeling is when your child is sick. It doesn't matter if it's the common cold or a serious illness. For Ryan we are fortunate that its the common cold. We saw this coming since Ryan has not been acting his happy self lately. He also hasn't been eating very much. Last night I think we reached the climax(I hope!). I put him down at around 6:30pm and he was up just about every 15min. The only time he would sleep for a long period of time is if we held him. Tim and I felt to bad for him. Ryan was so tired and all he wanted to do was sleep! At around 10pm we brought Ryan down stairs and let him sleep on us while we watched American Idol. We all went to our own beds at 11pm.

This morning Ryan woke up at 5:15am. Here we go again! I ended up taking the day off. It's hard enough to leave Ryan in the morning when he's well let alone when he's sick! Also, Ryan has a checkup today and Tim wanted to go but had a training in the afternoon. He ended up going in early and will do the training in the morning.

I finally got Ryan down for a nap at about 9:30. I took my shower started blogging and now he is awake again. I hope the rest of the day runs a little smoother. We have TONS of errands to run.

Feeling old!

Today I went to the park with some old friends. I haven't seen them in years. We went to the park with our KIDS! What? How weird is that. I never thought this day would come. I think I am getting old!

It has been quite a busy week. On Tuesday Tim and I went to Sea World with Caleb and Ryan. We had a good time with the kids. I will post pictures when I get off my butt to get the camera from the car and download the pictures.

Torrey Pines

On Saturday we have a nice family day. Tim had been working like crazy so I thought we could spare some time to hang out as a family. We went to Torrey Pines and walked the trails along the bluff down to the beach. Tim and I have both loved here all our lives and never been there before. Just a few weeks ago we bought a backpack carrier on craigslist for Ryan and thought this would be a great time to break it in.

The morning was late afternoon was a little cold and overcast. Once we got to the beach the sun started to shine through. We were able to play on the sand and had a snack. The way back up was tiring (I am so out of shape!) and by this time it seemed the sun was out in full force! We had to take the long way back to Tim could see the back side of the Torrey Pines Golf Course. That man has some issues!

After we were done walking the paths we decided to use our coupon at Scripps Aquarium. It was a fun time. Ryan enjoyed looking at the fish and touching the star fish. Next stop we made was to my mothers house where we dropped off Ryan and Tim and I had a nice dinner at Red Lobster. All in all a great day!

All this just in time before it rained ALL DAY Sunday!
