The park

I love that I only work until 11:30 because it still gives me time to do "mom" things like the park. Now, I understand that Ryan is very limited at the park but getting out of the house and spending the afternoon with good friends is so therapeutic. Here are few pictures at the park(sorry Michelle you went to the bathroom)

Here was the best part of the day. I put Ryan in the swing and he just LOVED it. He cracked up the whole time. I wish I could just capture his laugh in a bottle. The best sound ever!

I love you baby!

The Rodeo

The rodeo. That's how is spent my Saturday night, at the Lakeside Rodeo. This is my first rodeo and I don't know what to think. My experience started at the 7-11 walking to the rodeo when we ran into a couple that had started their party a little early. This was exactly what I expected. When when you get to the gates you find people of all kinds. I had to hold Tim back from wearing his cowboy hat and boots. Now I'm sure your thinking, why can't he where his boots? Well, that would be because he put them on with his shorts.

Tim made fun of me because I felt bad for the animals. Tim thinks I should join PETA now. You should see the things they do to the animals. They tackle them and put ropes around them, they get pulled from both sides. I think I lost the redneck card that I inherited when I married into the Farmer family. I sat next to Tim and one of my friends from Texas. That's right, Texas. The rodeo was in her back yard growing up. No one there felt my compassion for these animals.

According to Tim I will be left behind for the next rodeo. Oh, well.

Authentic Worship

When I started this blog it was so I had somewhere to complain about my pregnancy, to post picture of baby boy Farmer (now known to you as Ryan) and that was about it. Since then I thought about posting my daily ups and downs about trying to lose this "baby" weight, but I am to lazy to even keep up with my posts (which gives great insight to why I haven't lost the weight). Recently I have been challenged to get a little more personal. Here we are (baby steps).

I have done so many classes on spiritual gifts. I have done every "evaluation" you can take. The thing is I already know that my heart was made for worship. Nothing has been more clear in my life. I heard recently that God never takes away a gift, we just cover it with sin. I think somewhere down the road this is what happened to me. I lost the fire. The desire to better myself. I started feeling a sense of entitlement, and might we even say that ugly Christian word "comfortable".

Let me tell you, know one knows how to put on the breaks like God does. He doesn't fool around. He will set you straight. Life seemed to become heavy until I just broke down. I had an awesome worship time with Him and prayed in a way I haven't prayed in a long time. This is what I learned about prayer:
  • You Don't need to be praying for a long time about the same thing until God thinks you want it enough and finally gives in. His time might be swift, His time might be long.
  • If you pray to be humbled= God will humble you
  • If you pray to be broken= God will break you
  • If you pray for character= He will build it for you
  • If you pray for forgiveness= He won't hesitate to give it to you.

What a gentleman He is.

I heard once that performance and worship is like oil and water, they don't mix. All I know is Matt Redman said it the best with the song Heart of Worship.

"I'm coming back to the heart of worship and it's all about You Jesus. I'm sorry Lord for the things I've made it but it's all about You Jesus"

Have I mentioned God is Good!

Let's rank them

I've decided to do a series of posts that will rank my top 5. I hope that everyone (if anyone) reading will join in and let me know your top 5.

I am currently watching the travel channels program "Great Cruises: Freedom of the Seas". So today I am going to rate the top 5 vacation destination I still want to go (not allowed to use places I've already been). This list can change at any time. Here we go... in no particular order:

1. Great Britain

2. Costa Rica

3. Grand Mediterranean Cruise

4. Alaskan Cruise

5. House boat vacation (doesn't matter where)

I will also have to add a vacation on the Freedom of the Seas because watching it on TV looks like lots of fun. It goes to the Caribbean.

Happy Easter

So, you want to know what we did this Easter... Nothing! I loved every minute of my nothing. I watched Oprah and Tim slept. Tim watched golf and Ryan and I slept. We are having Chinese takeout for dinner and then maybe a little sudoku before going to be for the night.

We has a great turnout today at church. The second service was crowed and alive. Steve did an awesome job leading worship today. He was very into the music and I think everyone was able to feel his vibe. Just another day to remind me that God is good.

I have to confess that as a wife and mother I have failed this Easter. No Easter baskets were given out. No dinner on the table. I took one picture of Ryan this whole day. His first Easter! I guess I will have to make it up to him next year. Here is his only Easter picture. We took it at church with his buddy Bailey.

Yesterday we spent the day with Tim's family at the desert. I have to wait for LeAnne to send me some pic because I forgot my camera. So that post will be coming soon.

tired and teeth

I am too tired to post with pictures and even if I wasn't I don't have any at this time. Today Ryan cut his first tooth. What a big boy! Tim is out of town so when he comes home it will be to a son with teeth. Ryan also went to the doctor on Monday. I stayed home from work so I could hang out with him and take him to see Dr. Antos. He has been having congestion in his chest. The doctor thinks it is probably a nasal inflammation, we got nasal drops and we'll have to wait and see. I hope he gets better soon. I hope Tim gets home soon. I hope I go to bed soon...
