farmers market

yesterday was a perfect farmers market day. the kids had been in the backyard playing all day while i got some stuff done around the house. by about 4pm we were all ready to get out and play. the kids wanted to play with the thomas the train set at barns and noble and it just so happened to be the same day as the farmers market. for some reason with all the great smelling food the kids always end up eating hot dog on a stick. maybe it's because i don't want to spend money on food they probably will just tell me they don't like.

although the fruit looked and tasted yummy i walked right on past to the kettle corn and crapes. maybe next time beautifully round plums, or deliciously juicy peaches, today was all about corn on the cob and teriyaki kabobs (i ate a lot). then just as the sun was moving away and the air was getting crisper, the boys felt it was their time to get wet in the water feature. but then again who could blame them.

and as we were leaving in the car the perfect sun was setting over the empty fields. and as summer arrives and the smell of sunscreen is in the air we went home and hit the bed, hard. goodnight to another sunny summer day, the first of many!
