NO MORE FIRE...PLEASE!

I know everyone in San Diego is blogging about the fires but what else is there to write about at this time. The only thing on the TV is fire news.

Yesterday, Tim and I went out to Campo. This was our first intro to the Harris fire. We started driving east on Otay Lakes Road when we were stopped when the road met up with the 94. We were told to turn around that the road was closed. At that time I was just annoyed that we were going to be late to where we were going. When I woke up this morning I felt bad for the people losing their homes. How awful! But then around 2:30pm our home was part of the voluntary evacuation. Later, the first area in Chula Vista had become victim to the dreaded mandatory evacuation. Once that happened, Tim and I looked at each other and decided maybe we should gather some things together to be safe. Which leads me to my next point...

How do you decide what is valuable to you? If you have a few hours to pack up your most important things do you know what you would pack? I sure didn't! We packed some thing to wear and the laptop along with some papers but thats it.

Now, I don't foresee us having our house burn down but then again who does? Tim had to work a shelter until 4am so I am on my own here. Wish us luck!

Keep us updated.

And that is an interesting thought...what would I grab?
(Make sure Tim doesn't forget his guitars!) ;)

I asked myself the same question during the Cedar fires and again when I was watching people evacuate on TV and came up with the same answer both times...Nothing! As long as we all get out safely there is nothing in this house I can't replace or live without. I know you're all saying but what about your pictures? I would definitly miss them but I carry my memories in my heart and no one can ever take that away.

Don't worry Bobby. The first thing I grabbed were my guitars.

I am going to make a list so if that ever happens here, I will just go down the list. Of course, I said that during the last bad fire too!!

Love ya, be safe
