It's here... Almost

I really can't wait for summer to fully start. I read blogs that talk about summer and how they are so excited to finally enjoy summer activities. Everyday, I wake up, I anticipate a warm San Diego day with the sun beaming down and feeling a warm summer breeze (not to warm, of course) but our days have been so inconsistent. One day it's warm and the next, cold and overcast.

I love summer, always have. I am so excited to get summer started. Tomorrow the family is packing up and going camping at Green Valley Falls for the weekend. This will be the first "real" camping experience as a family with the kids. I'm going to the store today to get stuff for s'mores, hot dogs to cook in the campfire, pancakes for breakfast. Love it!

Yesterday, my mom asked me if we wanted the portable DVD player for the kids to watch movies on during the camping trip. This question left me perplexed. I don't know, do I? I NEVER watched movies when I was camping, that's not roughing it. Then again, I didn't go camping when I was 2. To be honest, the thought of letting the kids watch "Bolt" until they were fast asleep kinda enticed me. I am going to have to think long and hard about this.

I have decided that this camping trip will be my official start of summer. What else do we have planed you ask?
  • 3 day trip to Disneyland (2nd annual)
  • 4th of July river trip
  • lots of Sea World trips
  • 3 days at our family time share (yep, all the way to Escondido, CA)
  • Wild Animal Park
  • Del Mar Fair ( it will always be called the Del Mar Fair)
  • several trips to Nuyo
  • Lisa's wedding (P-A-R-T-Y)
  • church picnic in the park
  • beach days playing in the sand
  • swimming lessons
  • family photos (maybe, if I can lose those extra pounds I have been carrying around)
I am sure there so much more we are going to fill our time with. Palm Springs? Santa Cruz?

Just in case you were wondering, first official day of summer is June 21!

Until I have pictures of all our fun summer adventures, here are some taken this past Memorial Day.

Thank you to the Fink Family (Buzz, Kristina, Alexandra, and Amanda) for opening your beautiful new home to us. We had a blast!
