I have learned I have a LOOOOONG way to go before I master this photo taking thing (what I really mean it lighting!!. Here are a few picture I got of Micah and the boys.

thoughs for today

Man, I'm tired. Noah is sick...Again! This means I clocked a total of 3 1/2 hours in bed last night. I am ready for everyone to feel better. This season seems to have hit Noah pretty hard. I would post some pictures I've been taking of him but I don't think I have one without boogers all over his nose! Ahhh, the joys of parenthood.

Well, It's time. I said when we got home from Disneyland I would start potty training Ryan. Here is the thing, I don't think he is ready. I am sure I'm not ready. When you ask him if he wants to use the potty he states his feelings rather clearly, NO! I want him trained but I don't want to go through the process!!! Yesterday Tim and I went to Costco and bought a box of about 200 diapers. I guess he has about another month or so to decide he wants to go pee on the potty.

Speaking of Disneyland, I am well aware there are still no pictures posted of that day. I promise you one day they will come. Right now, my veggieburger is waiting for me!

testing...

I did it...

I didn't mean for it to happen but it did. Tim and I went to Best Buy to LOOK at the difference between the Nikon D40 and the Nikon D80. I was pretty sure I was leaning towards the D40. It was cheaper and a smaller camera. Now, with that said, when we got to Best Buy the D80 was on clearance (I guess they discontinued them). When all things were taken in to consideration (the fact that I want to eventually buy a prime lens)it seemed the D80 was going to be the best deal for us. They only had 3 left so we made the decision to get it then and there.

After the purchase was made I think I felt sick. This is a lot of money to be forking over. On top of that Tim wants to make sure he gets a return on his investment...good pictures! All of a sudden I feel very overwhelmed. Well, after church we went to Rubio's for lunch and I took some pictures of the kids. So, here they are. Please keep in mind this is my first time using the camera and I have yet to edit the pictures.

I know I have a looooong way to go to get the pictures I want but I don't feel as sick over the purchase as I did yesterday.

Balboa Park

A few weeks back, well okay, in January the family took a trip to Balboa Park to go to the Ruben H. Fleet space theater. We went to hang out and see a IMax movie about sardines (the movie was a little misleading, I though it was about all underwater animals). We had fun and I used it as an opportunity to take some pictures of the boys. The pictures didn't come out the way I hoped, but that is for another post- like the one below!

Good day had by all. Next time though we will go see Animalopolis.

My new camera - someday

All I want for Christmas... Is a camera! Well, not really for Christmas, more for maybe mother's day or better yet St. Patty's day. I can't seem to capture the pictures I want with my camera. I have friends who have BEAUTIFUL pictures of their children due to a spectacular camera. Vibrant colors, no awful flash needed, beautiful focus.

Now, here is the problem. I just convinced Tim that we do not need a new laptop computer. We should not be spending money on things we don't NEED. Now, I have no clue how I am going to convince him I NEED a new camera. I am trying to figure out what to get him for his birthday on Sunday. Maybe I'll get him a camera with some awesome lenses. I'm sure once he sees how great the pictures of our kids could look he will be indebted to me forever. If I get him one for his birthday we would be able to use it when we go to Disneyland! See, now I am getting myself excited about this idea. The only other problem, I would hate to end up divorced if he doesn't see the potential of this life saving gift. (Humph) What's a girl to do?
