fire update

Well, last night Tim came home about 12am to wake me and Ryan up. He felt that the fire was close enough to get out of dodge. I wanted to wait until we were told to leave but I know Tim is not able to be home and would like to know his family is safe. I woke up Ryan, put the last of the things in the car,got Badger in the car, and we left to my mothers house.
Leaving with the glow of fire in the background, and the stop lights not working was spooky. On the 4 mile drive to my moms house we saw 4 fire trucks pass us by going toward to fire. I didn't sleep that well but we made it through the night.
We are now back at home. They have evacuated the area right across the street from us but I am prepared to stay at home until we are told otherwise from the police. It has been a long 2 days and it looks like another long night.
At this time the area looks good and the immediate fire seems to be going in another direction. I hope and pray things stay this way.

NO MORE FIRE...PLEASE!

I know everyone in San Diego is blogging about the fires but what else is there to write about at this time. The only thing on the TV is fire news.
Yesterday, Tim and I went out to Campo. This was our first intro to the Harris fire. We started driving east on Otay Lakes Road when we were stopped when the road met up with the 94. We were told to turn around that the road was closed. At that time I was just annoyed that we were going to be late to where we were going. When I woke up this morning I felt bad for the people losing their homes. How awful! But then around 2:30pm our home was part of the voluntary evacuation. Later, the first area in Chula Vista had become victim to the dreaded mandatory evacuation. Once that happened, Tim and I looked at each other and decided maybe we should gather some things together to be safe. Which leads me to my next point...
How do you decide what is valuable to you? If you have a few hours to pack up your most important things do you know what you would pack? I sure didn't! We packed some thing to wear and the laptop along with some papers but thats it.
Now, I don't foresee us having our house burn down but then again who does? Tim had to work a shelter until 4am so I am on my own here. Wish us luck!

My sweet baby boy!
Now he is sleeping and wakes up from his naps happy. He is taking two good hour and a half naps and just plays in his crib when he wakes up. He is going to bed at 7pm (sometimes 6:30) and waking up at 7:30am. He is happy and will just play with his toys so I can get things done (or watch soaps). I just pray this lasts awhile. It has been so hard dealing with Ryan when he is fussy and I am tired and sick. I see a light at the end of the tunnel.
Praise Jesus!

Ryan and Caleb
Rachel and Caleb were down for a few days. It's fun having Ryan and Caleb be able to play together. Rachel and I took the boy to the pumpkin station the other day. Here are the pics.
