A new season - School

It has been a crazy, fun, sad, exciting week around here.  Ryan started 1st grade!  It's hard to believe summer is behind us and another school year lies before us.

Ryan,

I am so proud of the big boy you are becoming everyday.  To be able to see how independent you are fills me with pride and sorrow all at the same time.  You have embraced school and learning and playing and it brings you so much joy.  This is the first school year you are gone all day and I missed you a little yesterday.  On your first day of school even though I packed you a lunch you were so excited to find out they have chicken nuggets, watermelon, and milk at school.  All you have to do was show them your "Cheetah Card".  Who know they have charge cards to 5 year olds.  Everyday you continue to amaze me more with the boy that you are.

I love you,

Mom.

But not to be outdone- Noah started preschool today.

This kid has so much energy I just hope his teachers can keep up with him ( I know I cant).  Please, pay no attention to the scrapes on his forehead, it was just a minor head to the brick wall kind of thing.  When I asked Noah if he thought he would like preschool he shot back with "Mom, I KNOW I'm going to like preschool".  And to his defense he had no problems adjusting or saying goodbye to us.

So, now it is just me and Luke in the morning and Luke is napping.  I'm not really sure what to do with a quiet house.  I haven't had silence here in quite some time.  I am beginning to realize just how fast these boys are growing up.  Days like today though remind me just how good God has been to me.

There are many days that I feel "off" like the day is running me, and just inadequate as a wife, mother, friend.  Then there are moments of silence where you know - God's got this!

In case your house isn't silent today - let me remind you - God's got this!

I told Uncle John the charge card story and we both got such a laugh out of it!
